How Cloud Server bandwidth is calculated?
Posted by Dovydas Š., Last modified by Raimundas S. on 23 January 2018 01:35 PM

Cloud Server bandwidth is measured as follows:

We are measuring terabytes of outgoing data per monthly billing period. Each plan has different limits, ranging from 2TB to 24TB, those limits can be found here or in the Client Area. Additional bandwidth can be purchased via upgrade tab as well. If you have a longer billing cycle, the bandwidth accounting is still based on monthly (30 days) period starting with the day of service purchase. The system checks the bandwidth every hour and, in case of over-usage, limits the networks speed for a particular environment. After reaching the limit, network speed is limited to 128kbps. Network speed is limited until:

  • Additional bandwidth is purchased via upgrade tab;
  • Bandwidth accounting period rotates;
  • In an unlikely case of error, the administrator lifts the bandwidth limit manually.

Client Area changes:

  • You will see an exclamation mark (!) in your service list if you go over the limit for particular service.
  • You will see network speed limit in the VM overview tab.
  • You can see more detailed statistics and enable email notifications in the Statistics > Bandwidth tab.
