To configure Akismet Plugin simply go to "Plugins>Akismet Configuration" to access it's configuration page. If there is no "Akismet Configuration" in the sub-list, make sure Akismet plugin is installed and activated.

Then we should get the following window to start Akismet plugin configuration.

We will be asked to provide Akismet API key which needs to be obtained from Akismet website http://akismet.com/wordpress/. Once we will get API key, put it in the input field as explained in the picture.

The two options below means we can set to delete spam submitted on posts more than a month old. Also, it's possible to show the number of comments approved near each comment author.

To apply those settings, click "Update options" button.

As Akismet is working in the dedicated servers, we may also track the connectivity of available servers in the same configuration page.

Here it shows particular Akismet servers IP addresses and their current status. To check status again, click "Check network status" and network status will be refreshed.
