How To Install WordPress Using Softaculous Applications Installer

In this article we will explain how to install WordPress using Sofatculous applications installer.

We will assume you are already logged in to your hosting account control panel. Since Host1Plus provide Softaculous in cPanel/WHM control panel, once you will be in the control panel area, scroll down the page untill "Softaculous Apps Installer" will be visible.

There you will be able to choose which application you would like to install. In this case, click on the WordPress icon. In the next page you will get more information about WordPress like features, screenshots, demo, ratings, reviews, etc. Once you will get enough information about this web application, just click the "Install" button to launch installation. But before installing, you will be asked to fill the form with required information.

First of all, you will need to select which protocol will be used. Whether it will be http://, http://www or https://, https://www if you will be using SSL certificate.

Next step is choosing domain name under which WordPress will be installed. This can be done in the "Choose Domain" list. Also, it will ask you to type in directory in which files will be installed. If you need it to be installed under your domain name without any directory at the end, leave this field empty.

Database Name is required in order to create database with valid name. It will be used for storing WordPress information.

Going to "Database Settins", it will ask you to provide database table prefix.

By default table prefix will be "wp_". It can be changed according to your needs.

Next thing which needs to be done is to fill information about site name and description.

This can be done in the "Site Settings" section. Simply put your website name in the "Site Name" field and description about your website in the "Site Description" field. Also, there you can enable multisite function (WPMU). Just tick the checkbox and this feature will be enabled.

We've almost finished. Now it will ask to provide admin account details.

There you will need to put admin username, password and email address. Make sure you will use strong password which consists both numbers and letters and is at least 10 characters long.

Finally, installation form will ask to select WordPress language and provide email address to which installation details will be send.

Once you have done this, check is all information you have provided is correct. Once you are sure about your information, click "Install" button.

If the installation has been completed successfully, you should see a message like in the screenshot above. It will show where WordPress was installed: frontpage and administrative URL.

By using this manual, you should be able to install WordPress software in your hosting accout using Softaculous Application Installer.
