This tutorial will explain how to install WordPress using Installatron application installer. We assume you are already logged in to DirectAdmin account. To start installing, navigate to "Installatron Applications Installer" which can be found in the main page of control panel under "Advanced Features".
Or you can instantly jump to installation by clicking on WordPress icon under "Web Applications".
If you will go through first way by clicking "Installatron Applications Installer", on the next page you will see all available applications to install in a few clicks. Here we need to locate WordPress. It is located in the "Apps for Content Management" section. By clicking on WordPess icon you will see the same page as will be shown by clicking WordPress icon in DirectAdmin homepage.
Start installation by simply clicking on "Install this application" button. In the next step, you will need to fill the form with required details. First of all, select domain for which WordPress will be installed. It can be done in the "Location" section.
Select domain name in the "Domain" list. Also, you can type in path in the "Path" field. If it will be left empty, WordPress will be installed under domain name in the public_html. If any path wiill be provided, WordPress will be installed under that path. So it will look like http://www.YourDomain.com/wp. In the next step, we will need select WordPress version which we want to be installed. This can be done in the "Version" section.
By default, latest version will be already selected. But you can choose older one. Also, there is option to select language. If you need language other than English, WordPress can be installed in any other language which is available in the "Language" list. And make sure you will familiarize with WordPress license. Once you will get enough information about it, choose whether to accept it or not. Now we can proceed to the part of the installation form where is database settings.
If you will select "Automatically manage the database settings for me", database for WordPress will be automatically created. But if you want to create database for your self, you may select "Let me manage database settings".Then additional form with database information fields will be shown. There you will need to provide your created database details. Final step will be to fill the fields with administration information.
Here we need to type in administrator username which is by default admin. It is recommended to use custom username to be more secured. In addition, make sure you will use strong password which consists both numbers and letters in at least 12 symbols combination. Administrator email will be automatically provided as in your DirectAdmin account, but it can be changed. Website title can be changed as well. If you want to use WordPress as multi-site, this feature may be enabled during the installation. If so, select the checkbox for "Yes, enabled multi-site support for subdirectories of the selected install location." Now you may review the form you've just filled to make sure everything is correct. Once you will be sure about it, click "Install" button and WordPress will be installed. Once the installation will be completed, you should see the following window:
There it shows website URL where WordPress has been installed frontpage, administration panel and support link. If you want to see more details, you may click "view/edit details". Another page will open with more detailed information about WordPress installation where you will be able to edit location URL, database and administration settings. You may also create a backup of existing WordPress installation by clicking "create backup" button. Or you may delete all WordPress files from your account by clicking "uninstall" button. That's it with WordPress installation. Now you may start using this application to create blog or any simple website. | |
